About Radio Games

Who runs this

Radio Games is a project of Radiofun, a Washington nonprofit corporation organized for educational and scientific purposes: advancing amateur radio education, scientific experimentation, and international goodwill. Federal 501(c)(3) recognition is in progress.

Radiofun's board is Beau Gunderson N7YHF (President and Treasurer), with two additional directors pending; they will be listed here once seated. Bylaws, board resolutions, and the conflict-of-interest policy are published in the governance repository as they are adopted.

Why a nonprofit

The confirmation systems amateur radio depends on are decades old, and the people who maintain them retire. A nonprofit with published governance and open code is the structure most likely to still be running in twenty years, whoever is at the keyboard. Grants and donations pay for development and hosting; nothing is sold.

What's next

Club and special-event award programs hosted on Radio Games, so a club running awards out of a spreadsheet can move here without building anything. Anonymized matched-contact data published for propagation and hobby-health research. Both are on the roadmap; if either matters to you, come say so on the Discord.
